My collection is inspired by the home, interior and furniture of the 1980s and characteristically heavy materials, fluffy textures and the pastel colours. Visually I wanted the collection to look like our belongings are blending into one with ourself and our character. Growing onto us. The person becoming one with everything they own because everything we own also owns us. All our belongings are a part of us, since they are part of our every day life and they are living with us in our space, the space where we can be our true selves. I see the home as an existing link between our inner and our outer selves. Our environment trains our personality and influences the choices we make. The collection is a reflection on materialism and how our culture is focused on having more and more in hope to find happiness.
